AI visibility diagnosis: what it shows about your brand and how to use it

An AI visibility diagnosis shows, in minutes, whether your site is ready to be cited by ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity — and where the blocker is.

When a diagnosis makes sense

  • You asked ChatGPT about your market and your company did not come up.
  • Google traffic dropped, but sales still come from people who "did their research first".
  • The site was rebuilt recently and nobody checked how bots read it.
  • You want a baseline before investing in content.

What a good diagnosis checks

Crawler access

Which assistant can read your site? robots.txt can allow Google while blocking — without anyone deciding it — the crawlers of OpenAI or Perplexity. A good diagnosis shows this crawler by crawler, because a block on one of them means disappearing from that assistant's answers.

How the site is read

The diagnosis reads the page as the AI would and shows what it concluded: what the company does, for whom and where. If that reading is wrong or incomplete, it is because the site does not say it — and that can be fixed.

Readiness signals

Technical and content details become verifiable signals: text readable without JavaScript, an llms.txt file, an explicit offer, proof. Each signal is marked pass, attention or fail, and together they make up the readiness score, split into Access, Clarity and Preference.

Business risk

A score alone does not say what is at stake. The diagnosis translates the result into risk for the business: what happens to the brand if nothing changes in the assistants' answers.

How to read the result

  1. Look at the weakest axis first, not the average. That is what holds back the recommendation.
  2. Check crawler reach. A block here explains more than any copy tweak.
  3. Read how the AI understood your business. If the description does not match what you sell, start with the homepage.
  4. Do the fastest win. A good diagnosis points to the lowest-effort, highest-impact action — often a single line in robots.txt or the first sentence of the homepage.

What a diagnosis does not measure

A site diagnosis shows whether the brand is ready to be cited. It does not show whether it is being cited, or who shows up instead. For that you need to test your market's buying questions on each assistant, repeat them and track them over time — because answers change. The difference between the two numbers is explained in AI Visibility Score.
